I recently visited Korea again, and was happy that my trip coincided with HYBE Insight's new exhibition 'The Daydream Believers' at their new location in Gangnam. I went to their previous exhibition at Yongsan which was amazing (but has sadly closed).
This new exhibition lasts from 9 June to 27 August 2023, which is pretty short so idk if they will change the exhibition to a different concept after.
The exact address of the new HYBE Insight is 606, Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. I took the train to Bongeunsa station (exit 5) and walked around 100m before I saw this huge banner.
I queued for a while before entering this booth, which was to collect the random photocard for the HYBE group you picked - BTS, Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen or Le Sserafim. I chose Seventeen & my friend picked BTS!
It was actually nerve-wrecking to reveal the photocards - but I got Vernon & she got Jungkook! Her bias is RM, and she actually managed to trade the pcs with a fellow ARMY later on.
The start of the exhibition - cut-outs of the members portraits played as a video; pretty aesthetic.
Now onto the next section, yes - blurry videos of the idols & not my camera being faulty!!!
This section confused me initially. My phone camera wasn't out of focus, the portraits were actually blur. But after reading the description of this exhibit I was like oh ok makes sense, but as a result I also spent a long time trying to capture the idols' faces before the videos blurred out again.
The next floor forbids any photography, so I won't be covering a lot of content about this floor, but it was another portrait exhibit too!!
This floor also had some big boards where you can write post-it letters to your idols and paste them, vv cute and it happened to be BTS' anniversary that day so there were many anniversary wishes from ARMYs~
The exhibition ended after the 2nd floor, and next was the merch shop (exciting but time to practice self-control...) I had to queue for 5-10 minutes before entering since they only allow a fixed number of people inside at one time. This is the BTS Daydream photobook!
I had been eyeing the disposable cameras since the merch brochure for the exhibition came out! This is the Seventeen one, where it comes with the members' photocards too.
I ended up getting the BTS themed disposable camera! I'll bring it to the agustd concert this weekend and take some nice photos :)
After the check-out, there were some mini booths where we could snap photos onto these cute receipts, and they had quotes on them too!
The date of your visit would also be stamped onto your photocard holder during checkout! And 06.13 because I visited on BTS' anniversary date!!!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I spent around 1h 30 minutes inside, and while I still prefer the one at Yongsan because it was more interactive & had more magical vibes, this was still a cool exhibition! So definitely recommend you to visit if you're in Seoul during this period (but reservations are needed in advance on Weverse) - hopefully there will be future exhibitions too!
