GOLD-PLATED CHARMS CARE

My gold-plated charms tarnished! What now?😭

I launched 2 gold-plated charms in my new Project SKZ collection - Han Quokka & ATE. These are not made of gold, but rather 925 silver plated with gold.

I noticed my charms tarnishing after exposing them to the intense sun for outdoor shoots the past 2 weeks. Corrosion is typical for gold-plated jewelry, due to exposure to intense sun, moisture and chemicals.

Here's how to tell they have started to tarnish:

Silver-plated jewelry can be cleaned easily with a polishing cloth, but its a little different for gold-plated ones...

Fret not, I know a visit to the jeweler is an extra hassle, so I have a DIY method for you to restore your gold-plated charms at home.

I tested this method for my charms and it works! Just make sure to wipe them dry with a clean, dry cloth to prevent water spots.

Also, store them in a cool, dry place (like the Project SKZ pouch) to prevent further tarnishing & scratches.

*Avoid prolonged exposure to intense heat, moisture & chemicals (lotion, perfume, sanitizers). Repeat this method every 1-2 months if needed!

Hope this helps :)
